The classic article is a powerful feature which gives creators the possibility to publish unique content and build amazing articles. Enjoy a full html editor and create stunning articles including videos, pictures and much more.

Video Article

The video article is the right choice in order to spread visual stories. Just embed your YouTube video, add a description with a full html editor and add pictures and further information about the video. With our stunning video template your clip is in the main focus and presented in the right way to the readership.

Keyword Research

Keyword research is the main work if you want to create a good performing article. Make sure to do your best job in case of research for keywords as this is very important for long-term traffic on your article. There are several tools you can use to find potential keywords for your piece of content. Make sure your main keyword is relevant for search engines and has enough monthly search volume. Also check your keyword competitors in case of paid ads and organic rankings. It will be hard to get good results if you have many companies paying for ads based on your keyword. Better focus on so called „long-tail keywords“ as they are getting more and more popular.

Keyword Planner

If you have a Google ads account you can use keyword planner to look at search volumes of specific keywords. Adding those keywords to your ad-plan will give you an idea about search volumes.

Article Structure

The structure of your article is important for the reader as well as for search rankings. Make sure to have a clear hierarchical structure in your articles starting with your headline and a stunning featured image to catch the full attention of our readership.

Title / Headline (H1)

The headline should cover the main topic of your content which can be quite hard sometimes. It’s very useful to use so called „powerwords“ in your title to reach a high CTR.

Featured Image

The featured image is the main image of your article. Think about the brand „Crocs“ – they are very comfortable and good for your feed but hey, they look like shit. No matter how good your text is, if the main image of your article looks like poop, no one will read your masterpiece of written text.

Selecting a matching image

The fascination of surfing is transported by pictures. In order to create a great piece of content you should give yourself some time to find a stunning featured image for your article.

If you don’t have a matching image for your content you can use sites like unsplash.com to find amazing free-to-use images for your article. Altough you don’t have to in case of Unsplash, we ask you to always credit the photograper in all images.

Size and format

The size of the featured image should be 1920x1080px. The maximum file size is 300kb.
Accepted file formats are jpg, jpeg and png.

Let’s start with the main part of your article – the content. Now the work you already did before helps you to create a great article.

Introduction (Excerpt)

The introduction gives readers a short overview about the article in two or three sentences. Also, the introduction will be used as excerpt on previews and is displayed in Google’s search results. Make sure that your main keyword is covered in the introduction.

Subheader structure H2-H6

In order to have good structure in your article you have to use the headline tags h2-h6.

Find out more about the structure of headings: https://www.w3.org/WAI/tutorials/page-structure/headings/

Your well researched keywords should somehow find their way to your text but this is not enough to get good search results. Try to place the keywords in a natural way within your article. Let’s say you write an article with 1.000 words. Your main keyword should be mentioned in the text around ten times. Also, the main keyword should be a part of some of your subheadings (H2). But don’t do keyword stuffing as this will have a bad effect on your search results. If your main keyword is good researched and fits to your topic you will find a natural way to place the keyword in your content.

Selection of images for your article

The selection of pictures for your article should be as good as your text. Images do support your article with positive emotions. Think about yourself – how do you feel if you see an amazing picture of a perfect left-hander at a beautiful place without a crowded line-up!? Can you feel that positive emotion? Do you think that this state of emotion is good if you want to spread your message? Yeah, you are right, it definitely is. We recommend to add some great pictures to your article. As mentioned before, you can use unsplash.com for more images if you don’t have enough.

Size and formats

  • The prefered orientation of images is landscape. If you have multiple images with portrait orientation, we recommend you to combine each two images so that the format is more or less landscape.
  • If you want to include a single portrait image, we recommend to set the maximum width to 800px and the position to center.
  • Accepted file formats are jpg, jpeg and png.
  • Max. File Size: 150kb

SEO for images

You picked some great pictures and now you are ready to upload them. A lot of traffic can be achived by image search tools such as Google. In order to make your pictures „search-relevant“ you need to set the „alt-attribute“ of the image. Make sure to find a good description for your picture and try to add the main keyword if it makes sense.

A good article should always have some good links to further information related to the article’s topic.

Internal links

For internal links you just need to mark the word you want to link and click on the „link-chain button“ of the html editor toolbar. Type in some ideas related to your content and the search bar suggests articles that are already published on our website. You can also link to other articles that you published before.

External links

It is always a good idea to link to other external websites for more information. Please make sure that all links to other websites are related to the topic, trusted and well researched.

Tags and Categories

You can choose between different categories when you publish an article on prime-surfing.de. We offer several categories such as news, stories, products or promotions. Our readers will find your article in the corresponding channels on our frontend.

Choose the right „tags“ for your article. You can add own tags that fit to your article but don’t use more than five. Tags have different functions. A few of them are:

  • Create additional keywords for your article
  • Organize multiple articles in one place. WordPress creates landig pages for every tag. Those landing pages are indexed by search engines and therefore create traffic.

So, you should choose your Tags very wiseley, don’t use widely words, be specific and if use them repeatedly if you write multiple articles that includes the same topic.
